At the pracitce of NW Heights Dental in Portland, OR, patients have access to a wide selection of restorative dentistry solutions. Among these treatments is that of Invisalign orthodontics, a revolutionary way for patients to address smile misalignment including poor bite alignment, malocclusion, and crooked teeth.
What is Invisalign?
Drs. Keri Smith and David Hiebert of NW Heights Dental are pleased to provide patients with information regarding Invisalign orthodontics. Instead of using a traditional orthodontist who will realign the smile with metal brackets and wires, patients can visit our team to use clear plastic aligner trays instead. Invisalign eliminates the need for metal orthodontia and allows patients to address common problems with the use of trays. The trays are custom-made for patients based off 3D impressions and computer-guided software that creates the gradual enhancement of the smile at the Invisalign laboratories. Patients obtain a series of trays and wear them two weeks at a time before moving onto the next one. By the end of treatment, patients will be on their last tray to obtain the final results.
How do I care for my teeth within Invisalign?
Many patients love using Invisalign because it is easier than ever to keep the smile clean and healthy. Instead of having to brush and floss around brackets and wires, patients just remove their trays to care for their teeth and gums as they normally would. The trays are easy to keep clean as well!
Why is it called Invisalign?
Invisalign is a combination of the words “invisible” and “align,” which is the primary benefit of using this treatment instead of traditional orthodontia. When patients are wearing their trays, it is completely discreet to others.
