Medical vs. Dental Insurance Coverage
Both medical and dental insurance offer coverage for specific services from a list of medical professionals. The key difference between the two, is that medical insurance typically incorporates a larger percentage of treatment costs in comparison to dental insurance. Your medical insurance, for the most part covers the entire cost of the treatment, excluding copays and/or deductibles. This is in exchange for all monthly payments of monthly insurance premiums.
With dental insurance, although you will pay a monthly premium, instead of covering the majority of costs for the treatment, your dental insurance plan will offer one of the following coverage:
- Preventive dentistry – 80 to 100% coverage
- Restorative dentistry – 20 to 80% coverage
- Orthodontics – 20 to 70% coverage (only when elected)
- Sedation dentistry – 20 to 50% coverage (only when elected)
- All other services – not typically covered
Our team will work directly with you and discuss all costs upon dental visit.
Payment Options
It’s an understandable fact that many people are not able to pay for their dental treatments upfront or in one lump sum. That’s why at NW Heights Dental, we sit down with you for a confidential, informal discussion and develop a financial plan that is right for you. We’ll even help you with insurance arrangements.
Lending Club Patient Solutions & CareCredit
Our practice is pleased to present flexible payment plans through Lending Club Patient Solutions and CareCredit. Both companies offer the following:
- Plans with low fixed rates & low monthly payments that never change over the life of the loan
- Patient-friendly, True No-Interest Plans with no retroactive interest
- No upfront payments
- No prepayment penalty
It’s easy to calculate your potential monthly payments. Simply complete a short application which displays fixed rates and monthly payments available for Extended Plans, all without impacting your credit score. Insurance Information
Insurance is often based on minimal levels of restoration or traditional treatments, so it will usually under-reimburse patients for modern, effective treatments.
Our goal at NW Heights Dental Group is to provide the very highest quality dental treatment available at reasonable fees. If you have insurance, we will do everything to maximize your dental insurance benefits. We can estimate your co-payment far in advance of your treatment.
While some might rely exclusively on insurance to fund their care, we believe most will see insurance as a supplemental benefit to superior, modern care.
We ask that you pay all estimated co-payments and deductibles for treatment at the time it is provided. Our estimates are subject to final approval by your insurance company. That means the amount we calculate as due, is subject to change.
